Mission
MESARGEN (Multi-Ethnic Sarcoidosis Genomics Consortium) is dedicated to advancing the understanding of sarcoidosis through integrative genomics and multi-omics research, with the goal of enabling precision medicine and improving patient outcomes worldwide.
We aim to uncover the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying sarcoidosis across diverse populations, translate these discoveries into clinically actionable insights, and foster global collaboration to accelerate innovation in diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy.
Scientific Objectives
- Establish a global, collaborative research framework leveraging advanced omics technologies, in synergy with initiatives such as the ERS-funded SARCOIDOMICS network
- Focus on identifying the molecular mechanisms and pathways that underlie sarcoidosis and its various clinical endotypes.
- Characterize the genomic factors that contribute to disease heterogeneity across different populations.
Translational Objectives
- Integrate large-scale, multi-omics datasets to enable biologically informed disease stratification
- Accelerate the translation of genomic discoveries into clinical applications, including biomarkers and therapeutic targets
- Support the development of precision medicine approaches for sarcoidosis
Dissemination & Advocacy
- Provide a robust, collaborative platform for data sharing, integration, and scientific exchange
- Promote the dissemination of knowledge across the scientific, clinical, and patient communities
- Engage with patients and advocacy groups to increase awareness and impact
